The fourth pattern in my latest collection

The fourth pattern in my latest collection

I didn’t totally mention this, but I’ve been working on a new pattern collection, ‘Daffodil Daze’. You’ve already seen a few pieces from it already: the trailing floral, the diamond trellis, the symmetric layout. Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be sharing the full collection along with all the colors I chose!

This one uses a scallop structure. Which is a little different from the rest of the collection. Less rigid, more of a soft, rolling repeat. This is one of my favorite tessellating shapes to work with.

Even though it doesn’t feature any daffodils, I still wanted it to feel like it belonged with the other designs, so there are elements that still carry through. The frilly floral look, same line weight, and same approach to color.

One more pattern left after this, and then the following week I'll share how the full collection came together!

Keep reading to see how this one developed.
